I love words‏

My goal for these next couple of months here in Panama is to kill every single mosquito that exists to make them an extinct species of bug. I can do that right? In the mission they teach us to make goals that are difficult but attainable, I think that one is pretty attainable.

Well this week has been a rewarding one once again, stressful but really enjoyable at the same time. Funny how that works but it makes sense in my head. We had a big 4-zone zone conference out here in David this past Friday so that President Carmack could come and get to know all the missionaries that he hadn't met yet. I really like the guy, he is going to be a great president for all these nooblets that don't know what they're doing. Anyway, the APs picked Elder Wright and I give a lesson in front of like 60 missionaries, as well as two other sisters here in David. We were a bit nervous but decided that we wanted it to be really good and help train all the new missionaries on how to place baptismal dates with investigators and why it was so important that we do it. We entitled the presentation "El deseo de extender compromisos", beautiful right? You don't even know what that means but you want to find out what it is, haha. It was all about how to invite people to repent and be baptized. It was very straight forward and to the point, which reflects Elder Wright and my personalities. At this point in our missions, I feel like if I'm not inviting people to repent and ditch their sinful lives and to be baptized in the only true church that exists in the world, then I'm not doing my job. We know how to teach lessons by now, that's obvious, but if we simply go to people's houses and share messages about Jesus, yada yada, then they will not understand our purpose as missionaries of God. If we don't do it, then no one else will. Our lesson went well we thought, we had planned to do lots of practices and get the new missionaries teaching off the cuff, but we ran out of time and couldn't get it all done, but we felt as though everyone learned a lot. It was a great conference, I too learned a lot about being perserverent and loving the people I teach more and letting them know that God loves them and wants them to be members of His church.

A few days before that in our district meeting, us as a zone had talked about trying to achieve a difficult goal. As a zone we had 30 baptismal dates planned for this month plus a few that were for the beginning of August. We decided that we were going to try to double that number in the following 3 days for the conference, inviting literally everyone that would listen to repent and be baptized. Seems tough right? 12 missionaries, 3 days, needing to put 30 more fechas. Well guess what? We totally did it! We added up the numbers on Thursday night and found out that we had gotten EXACTLY 60 as a zone. I thought that was so awesome, of all the numbers we could've gotten, exactly what we had set for ourselves.

Wright and I are working like animals and I love it. I've literally never felt this happy in the mission that how I feel now. I've found a love for what I'm doing. Before this moment, I viewed myself as a very average missionary, just doing the bar amount of work and getting things somewhat done. Now I feel as though I work hard and have seen the blessings and benefits from what we've done.

I really don't want this all to end, but I know it has to. I've pretty much already been told that I'm leaving David at the end of this change tho then finish the mission for 2 changes in my last area. I'm so excited to keep this fire going. I'm still working on my questing-answering bible with Wright, hopefully getting it done this coming week. There are so many scriptures that can be used to answer questions so directly, just using half of the Bible, half of the "only words of God". The Old Testament can be used to support as well, but really, like Christ said himself "la ley de moises es cumplida en mi" or in other words, all was changed when Christ came and started up His church and went out with the old and in with the new. I think that's where that phrase came from, haha.

As far as scriptures go, I can't think of any right now. There was one I really liked yesterday that basically said "what are you waiting for, be baptized now" in Spanish it says "Pues, por que te detienes? Levantate y bautizate" awesome scrip in the New Testament. I love you all, especially my mom who has her birthday this week on the 20th! Everyone wish her a happy birthday our I'll come hunt you down haha :) Enjoy your week, set scripture reading goals and attain them.
