"We're salesmen, but with the Spirit"

When I see people walking down the street selling food and whatnot, random produce items, I feel for them. When they go house to house shouting "tomates, aguacate, cebollas, zanahorias!" and no one wants to buy them and close the door in their faces, it puts everything into perspective, to see other people that get rejected all the time. For them though the answer of rejection is usually "no me interesa" or "por ahora no estoy bien", but our rejections are always "estoy ocupada, soy catolica y no quiero cambiarme de religion" etc. But if we can share something with them at the door that interested them at least the most microscopic amount to let them open the door, then we can bring them the Spirit into their homes. It's just all about getting into their houses first, telling them what they need to hear and how they need to hear it. Some missionaries are super pushy and do everything they can to get in "hermana, solo 5 minutos, nada mas, solo 5..:" NO! Just let it go and we'll set another appointment with her for another day, haha.

We went to Chacho's house this week, who is getting super in to the Book of Mormon, reads at least a chapter every day. And we decided to take him contacting with us to get him into missionary mode. We all had fun, had him start up the contact and get the nerves out. They were mostly neighbors of his that he already knew so it was easier for him and for us. While walking in the street, I found a live turtle like 5 inches long! I picked him up and said that I was going to keep him because I love turtles :) I took him home after that, cleaned him off and named him Sheldon, but I think I may change his name to Blastoise, we'll see what he likes better. Only problem is that I put him in the backyard that has other animals in it like geese, ducks, and dogs and stuff, and...well...now I can't find him. SHELDON!!!! I'll find him though, don't worry everyone. He's a cool little guy, energetic, super kicker. If I ever end up finding him, because he can't have gone too far, then I've gotta buy him some lettuce, that's what turtles eat right? Hey, kill 2 birds with one stone, I`ll help out the people that sell vegetables by buying their lettuce! I'm a genius, haha.

While listening to lots of talks that Elder Vance has on his ipod, I heard a really cool quote from President Monson which says "Anger doesn't solve anything, but it can ruin everything". The guy's pretty smart, no wonder he's the prophet, haha, the guy knows his stuff, just like the quote from a few weeks ago "Dios sabe como hacer Su vaina" haha.

In comp study with Vance, he was showing me some really cool scriptures in the Bible that prove that Christ created the Earth and all that is in it. Obvious the ones in Genesis that say "Let US make man in OUR image" in other words, it wasn't just God there doing it all by Himself, He had help. The scripture he gave me was Ephesians 3:9, which is really clear and straightforward, but even with all that, what I discovered was a really big error in the Bible, without expecting it. I use a little black bible that isn't the LDS bible, but it's small so I can carry it around. Anyway, we read the scripture together, Vance with the LDS bible and me with the apostasy bible, and noticed a big difference in the scripture. In his after the whole thing it says, "...by the Lord Christ" or something like that, in reference to the world and heavens being created. In mine it just ended and cut out that part and put a period, so that those who read it wouldn't think that Christ created the universe, just God. Big error. Just goes to show you that there really have been thousands of different versions of the Bible over the last 2000 years with people "removing many of the very precious things" like Nephi stated.

This month of June, being President Ward's last month, has been and will be a month of miracles, JUNE BOOM! Right now we're doing pretty dang good in our zone here, only 12 missionaries here and we have 10 baptisms as of now, with a sure 4 or 5 at least for this last weekend in June. We all want them to head back to California pleased with what they did in these 3 years, and it looks as though this is shaping up to be "el mes de milagros".

With changes coming up this week, I'm really excited to hear President's last message to us. I wonder what he'll say. I think I may cry, among many other people both elders and sisters. It's going to be really tough to say goodbye to him; he's been a real father for me these past 20 months, because I haven't had my actual father here to give me hugs :)

Just to end I want to share my testimony on the 3 kingdoms of glory, of which I've really gained a testimony this past week. We taught a lady yesterday that explained that for her there has always just been black and white, cielo e infierno, heaven and hell. Trying to explain to her that in reality there are 4 places that a person can go after this life was very new and unsettling for her it seemed. It is my testimony that God is the most just Being that exists. He knows what He's doing at all times, never has to think twice before doing something. He has prepared those places because every person is different. Every person deserves the place that they earned in this life of trials and testing. I know entirely that only those who are married and sealed under the proper priesthood authority in a holy temple of God will be able to attain the highest degree of glory in the Celestial Kingdom where God and His Son are waiting for their children. Only those who are constantly striving to be their best, exercising their agency in the correct way, and enduring to the end, will be able to sit among the prophets of old.

I love you all very much, you know so. The exaltation is available to all of God's children, but it's up to us to attain it. Have a wonderful week :)
