This was a great week though. I've really evolved into a Kuna lately. All I'm missing is the gold nose ring and crazy bracelets...oh wait I'm making those, haha. We have an Hermana in our branch I mentioned before that makes the mola ties really well and super fast, and when I gave her the first 2 designs, she says, "Oh elder, sabe dibujar entonces, quiero que dibuje algunos mas para mi, uno que es el bautismo de Jesucristo con Juan el Bautista y el otro donde jesus esta tocando la puerta" So that's what I did. I designed them both, in like 2 days, haha. And not to be prideful or anything but I think they turned out really well. She is now going to make them for me.They're gorgeous and I'm super excited! Also made myself another chakira that is sweet looking. It's light blue which they call celeste with little plus symols.
This week began with my first Conferencia de Zona, which included our Panama Zone, an area called Tocumen, where the airport is, and Colon. It was pretty good, got to see Elder Aguilar again! He went off to Colon and says it's super feo there, haha, and that he misses San Miguelito. Veracruz is beautiful though so I have no complaints, haha. I miss Aguilar too, because I miss speaking Spanish to my comps, it really helped. Now I really feel like a missionary though being in a foreign country with another gringo.
After zone conference, Bradford started feeling really bad, stomach ache and everything, so President Ward made him a doctor's appointment at the doctor near his house. So we got to kill like 4 hours hanging out at president's house waiting for it, which included sitting in air conditioning, eating Hermana Ward's delicious bbq sandwiches for dinner, and reading nice books on the leather couches, hahaha. But he's feeling better now. I'm the one that got sick, haha, almost passed out 3 times last night after church. Don't know what happened but I got super light headed and had a terrible stomach ache. I'm a bit better now, enough to go out for p-day, but definitely not 100%.
We got some bad news this week, our lady investigator who we thought was married who had a baptismal date for last Saturday, was not married to the guy she's living with. So she couldn't get baptized, boo. But we talked to her all about it and her and the "husband" are both willing to get married and she knows it's the right thing to do, even though the "husband" doesn't want to be baptized. Her daughter is 8 though, so we set fechas for both of them on the 8th of April. Now we've gotta work towards getting them married. She's a great investigator, accepts practically everything we tell her.
This week we had an amazing experience of bringing our blind, recent-convert, Hermano Lincoln to the temple to do baptisms for the dead. It was incredible, really, and he loved it! His words were, "Nunca yo he sentido algo tan fuerte y amable que me senti alla, me senti que alguien me abrazo, y vi alrededor de mi pero no habia nadie." Obviously he felt the Spirit and I did too very powerfully. I know that the ordinances that are done in the temple are true, and that's because we have the restored gospel, which is something that brings so much joy that cannot be explained in words.
Really great week. I feel a lot more love for the Panamanian people now that I didn't before, and that's great. How is everyone back home? Thank you for all your letters, seems like I get the most in our zone every week, haha, suckers!
This week I have 2 great scriptures, D&C 18:27-28 which talks about the restitution of the 12 apostles, super cool, and also D&C 105:14 which is the Lord's promise to us that He will fight our battles and we don't need to worry about it, awesome scripture.
Love you all, work hard, read the scriptures, primarily the Book of Mormon, and you will be eternally blessed.
