Ya empieza el "tiempo extra", se acabaron los 2 años, oficialmente‏

I'm running on extra time now baby! I passed up the 2 year mark in the mission on Saturday, crazy feeling to know that it's basically over. Sometimes I look down at my feet and wonder how they keep moving when I walk. When I think about how much I've walked in the past 2 years, it makes me laugh. I've been through like 5 pairs of shoes, and yet, I keep moving. Now, hills don't make me tired in the slightest. I've climbed up a 12,000 ft volcano and back down, and keep going. I think I'm starting to understand the concept "perseverar hasta el fin". This has been such a journey, everything that I've seen, done, said, experienced, lived, heard, and felt.

We had a great week this past week, ending it all with a baptism! WOOT! And guess what day the baptism was on? Yep, on my 2 year mark, what an amazing blessing. She's great too, the last one in her family that hadn't been baptized yet. Everyone in steps; her in-laws, like 2 years ago, her sister in- law a few months back, then her husband like 5 months ago, and now her. It's a really great feeling completing a family. I've never done it before now. We really wanted her husband to baptize her because he's a priest, but she insisted on me doing it, so I got to baptize her. When I got in the water with her, I felt such a calm confirmation from the Spirit that what I was doing was correct, and this was just the beginning for this lady. Her name is Florencia Carmen Gomez de Panezo, by the way, 23 years old. It was a really nice baptism too, organized, we made programs and everything and had lots of support from her family and from the ward. It's a cool feeling to know that in a year from now that the two of them can be sealed in the temple :)

The day before that, at midnight, Elder Mayo (elder that goes home with me on the 31st) got together on divisions to have human sacrifices, haha. Not really. Instead of burning my suit like a fool, we made missionaries (shirt, tie, and pants) and poured hand sanitizer all over them and they went up in flames really quick. It was fun, and that Mayo guy is a lunatic, I love him.

Before that whole thing we had a big stake activity that we got to participate in, which was called "Feria de Bienestar". It was a big deal, quite a few people showed up. There were demonstrations from nutritionists, health clinics, eye doctors, food storage, recycling, etc. It was cool, lots of people involved in that learning a lot about ways to make your life better. Oh, and we had a room set up with mission/church materials, teaching lessons and watching movies about the church, pretty cool. In my health exam, I found out that I weigh 160.6 pounds, 1.82 meters, and have an 82 cm waist, whatever that is in American units, haha. There were also typical music, dancing with the "polleras",...I'll explain all those terms in person, haha, too hard to write about. It was a cool activity and we got a few references from it, hope those turn out to be successful.

Yesterday on Sunday I gave my last testimony for my last Fast and Testimony meeting as a missionary. I was prompted to do so, even though I was nervous. Doesn't matter how many times I bear my testimony in front of other people, or speak in front of lots of people, I always feel a bit nervous. It was short and sweet, but 100% sincere. I have learned so much in these 2 years that if I were to share everything in my testimony, I'd be able to talk the whole Sacrament meeting.

I'm excited to see you all soon, and get the rest of my life started :) Scripture this week is in Galatians 4:7-12, which basically says that us as members of the Church have higher standards, and we shouldn't forget what we already know to be true about the Gospel. I love you all very much, have a wonderful week!
