I've come to realize the importance of everything it seems like. I don't even know where to start with this email, considering that there are only going to be 4 more of these, I want to make them good and uplifting. First off I want to tell you all that I love you, as if you've ever forgotten. I've learned the real importance of a Patriarchal Blessing this week I feel like. As with every time I read and study over mine, I feel the Spirit testify to me that the promises that were given to me are true, if I am faithful to the covenants that I have made with God. Él nunca varía de lo que dice, si lo dice, es porque es cierto, y Él no se arrepiente. I feel as though the phases of my life are being laid out in front of me. As I read my blessing, it is all explained in perfect portions of time; neatly organized periods of time of things that I must pass in order to gain the ultimate blessing of eternal life with my eternal family in the Celestial Kingdom. I know that my patriarch, Stephen Fenn, was an inspired man, and because of that, he was called to be an area 70, or something along those lines. I believe 100% in the power of the Priesthood and how the words that were said in my blessing were not his words, but rather, God's words directly to me.
As we come upon this week of General Conference, it is our unique opportunity as members of the church and sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father, to listen to what He has to say to us. The prophet speaks to us as a whole general public of the church, but listen to him as if it were God speaking directly to you. Those messages are inspired by Him, and they are for us as much personally as they are generally. It's somewhat similar to the Patriarchal Blessing, as God uses one of His chosen servants to communicate His message to us, His specific way. If you do not currently have your Patriarchal Blessing, you should really prepare yourself to get it. It is your personal piece of the map in the Plan of Salvation, your compass and your tour guide all together. The intervals laid out don't tell you EXACTLY step by step what you should and shouldn't do, but it gives you a pretty detailed sketch. Study it weekly, because it is written personal revelation that God wants you to study and ponder over.
I've been going through my New Testament questions, I think I only have like 2 left that I've written down. If any of you have questions about the gospel that you think an investigator or friend would ask you, or has asked you in the past and you were unable to answer them in that moment, let me know what they are. I'll write them down, study them, and see what I can find in the Book of Mormon and New Testament. Scripture and testimony, no hay una mejor combinacion.
I learned this week a really cool new game to play in group nights and Family Home Evenings, that's really simple. You take a piece of paper and lay it sideways, making categories like: name, last name, animal, color, etc. And each round, a person picks a letter from the alphabet and you all have to think of a word for the letter selected, and you earn points for being unique, or matching too. Blanks are 0, obviously. It's fun, I'll explain it better back home.
I made a lasagna in the church this past week, tasted really good. Made it at a member's house nearby the church and then brought it over to the church to bake it because they didn't have an oven. Lasagna is really easy to make, I don't know why people could possible think it's hard. They all enjoyed it.
I'm really excited for conference this weekend, it's gonna be great. Prepare for it well, as I will do so too. Fast and have questions in mind, things you've been pondering over, and see what God can do to speak to you for 8-10 hours. My scripture for you all is D&C 1:38, what I mentioned earlier, very well known. It doesn't matter who reveals what God has to say, Him or one of His servants, it's scripture and it is the same. Think of that during Conference this week. I love you all once again, see you in a month!
